Raspberry Banana & Almond Parfait with Honey Granola

Don't forget about brunch! After you have been moving around for most of your morning you will have
burned off your breakfast and your body will be yearning for more- (healthy choices, that is). Though you have burned off calories from normal daily activity (walking around the office, gardening, cleaning or a labor-filled job), you still don't want to eat so much you can't properly burn it off. That's why it is a great choice to eat small healthy meals so your body can safely and correctly burn the calories AND the fat.

For my next meal option, I give you meal two out of FIVE. This means that yes, if you workout you can add 1-3 more small and healthy meals to your diet, and who doesn't like to eat?! If you are paying attention to my daily food blog, you may have noticed that I previously posted a recipe for my "breakfast" option- Blueberry & Almond Breakfast Smoothie with Honey Granola . If you intend to keep a healthy routine that is both delicious and beneficial, be sure to get creative. You can use milk, natural fruit juice, almond milk, organic extracts, peanut butter, crushed nuts and many other delicious alternatives to my recipes, but today we are having a berry and almond parfait.

Raspberry Banana & Almond Parfait
with Honey Granola

1 Cup Low Fat Strawberry Yogurt
1/2 Cup Almond & Honey Granola
1/2 Banana, Sliced
1/4 Cup Fresh Raspberries
1/4 Cup Fresh Blueberries

In a sundae dish or bowl, add ingredients starting with a layer of strawberry yogurt. Top yogurt with a handful of honey & almond granola and cover with sliced bananas. Add a second layer of strawberry yogurt. Cover with granola and top with fresh raspberries and blueberries. Serve cold and immediately to keep granola crunchy.

(About 1 Serving- About 1 Parfait)

In this recipe, I used low fat yogurt with no added sugar, and a granola that was sweetened with only honey. This meal is around 300 calories.
